Present: Gretchen Flick, Christina Burns, Jane Nemier and Kathleen Melia

Proceedings:

Meeting called to order at 6:00 p.m. by President, Gretchen Flick

North Country Library System Annual Meeting

Gretchen Flick and Elizabeth Gondek are scheduled to attend the NCLS Annual Meeting on 9/14/23. Ms. Flick requests to be reimbursed $206 for the hotel stay for this meeting. MOTION made to approve reimbursement; seconded and approved.

Library Renovations and Proposed Layout

  • The proposed layout for the library provided from Educational Furnishings was reviewed and discussed. Section A of the layout was discussed as rather than being designated only for the library technician, it will instead be an area that can be used by both patrons of the library and the library technician with a secure storage cabinet.
  • Ms. Melia will contact Countryside Contractors for a construction estimate.
  • Ms. Flick will obtain an estimate from the movers and for the PODS storage units.
  • Ms. Melia will meet with Dawn Vincent on 8/18/23 to complete grant paperwork and Ms. Melia and Ms. Flick will meet with Dawn Vincent on 8/22/23 to complete grant paperwork.
  • MOTION was made to approve proposed layout; seconded and approved.

Current unreserved funds

Ms. Flick reports that the library board as of 12/31/22 had $84,000 unreserved funds and to date 48.9% has been used.

Executive Session:

It was moved to enter at 6:30pm and seconded. It was moved to exit and seconded at 6:45 pm.

Special Board Meeting

Ms. Flick moved to have a special board meeting on 8/30/23 to review grant paperwork with board. MOTION was made, seconded, and approved.

Meeting adjourned at 6:55 p.m.
